The second round Class 3A Playoff match-up between the #1 ranked and 6-0 DC-G Mustangs, and the 5-3 Carlisle Wildcats is building up to be a classic.

Both teams have stingy defenses, and predicate their offenses on the ground.  A match-up of similar strengths predicts to be a game of field position and few mistakes.

Carlisle has won three straight games, and put up 56 points in their last game on Friday in a rout of the Oskaloosa Indians.  Carlisle has scored an astounding 36 rushing touchdowns, compared to their 4 passing touchdowns.

The Wildcats are also averaging over 8 yards per carry, with Seniors, Karson Dunn and Nic Donahue, and Junior, Johnathon Dunn combining for over 2,200 yards for the year.

Fortunately, Head Coach, Scott Heitland’s defense is best at halting the run.

If you are unable to make Friday night’s match-up in Grimes between DC-G and Carlisle, be sure to tune in to AM1310 or 99.7FM KDLS at 7:00pm for kickoff.  Friday night’s broadcast can also be streamed at RaccoonValleyRadio.com or on the free KDLS mobile app.
