The high school volleyball postseason continues tonight for the Greene County and Paton-Churdan teams, while the cross-country program the two districts share enters its postseason this afternoon.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country Rams head to Winterset for Class 3A State Qualifying. The girls run at 4 p.m. with the boys to follow. Greene County has had low girls’ numbers and in recent meets haven’t had the minimum five runners to qualify for a team score. The Rams have had one of their better boys’ seasons in some time, but will face stiff competition from second ranked Dallas Center-Grimes, number nine Glenwood, 11th rated ADM, and others.

Greene County goes to tenth ranked Humboldt tonight for a Class 3A Region 2 volleyball semifinal at 7 o’clock. The Rams are 8-18 after downing Southeast Valley (Gowrie) in Monday’s opening round contest in Jefferson, while the Wildcats are 31-3 after winning vs. Algona.

Paton-Churdan won in five sets on Monday in Class 1A first round postseason play at Ft. Dodge St. Edmond. The 9-9 Rockets go to 9-14 AGWSR in Ackley at 7 p.m. It’s a 200 mile round trip on a school night.
