Adel-Desoto-Minburn cross country was able to compete in Winterset for the district race on Wednesday, and had their top runners come away with victories in the race with Geneva Timmerman winning the girls and Nate Mueller winning the boys.

Mueller has continued to get better and better throughout the season, getting first with a blazing time of 15 minutes and 15 seconds. Timmerman was also able to put together a great performance with a time of 18 minutes and 15 seconds. Both of these runners were able to book their tickets to the state race in Fort Dodge but they aren’t the only Tiger runners making the trip.

The boys team was able to place 2nd in their 12 team race, as they got some great races out of their top runners to qualify. Including Mueller, ADM got a great race out of junior Cooper Greenslade who was able to finish 8th in the race with a time of 16 minutes and 57 seconds. Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers included senior Ethan Juergens who finished 12th with a time of 17 minutes, senior Alex Dvorak who got 22nd with a time of 17 minutes and 38 seconds, and senior Nathan Royer who got 27th with a finishing mark of 17 minutes and 52 seconds. Alongside Mueller, Greenslade and Juergens were able to qualify individually for the state race as well with top 15 performances in the district.

On the girls side, ADM just missed out as they finished 4th as a team. Sophomore Callie Moyer had the second best performance of the day finishing 26th with a time of 20 minutes and 50 seconds.

The boys team and Timmerman will be racing in Fort Dodge next Friday in the state cross country meet. The girls race will be happening at 3:30 pm with the boys race to follow at 4:00 pm.
