A Guthrie Center convicted felon was recently arrested for an alleged domestic abuse incident.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday October 21st, the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 1700 block of 260th Trail in rural Guthrie Center for a possible stabbing. The victim told the Sheriff’s Deputies that 27-year-old Alicia Marie Beardsley hit him over the head with a beer bottle and choked him. Injuries to the victim and other evidence found during the investigation were consistent with the victim’s claims.

Beardsley fled the scene in a yellow Dodge Neon, which was located in the road ditch about three miles from the residence. Law enforcement then searched the area for Beardsley, and a passerby told them he picked up Beardsley earlier and took her to the previous address. When authorities returned to the residence Beardsley was not there, and she was located about 45 minutes later at a neighbor’s home about a mile away. Beardsley appeared to look like she had walked through timber and fields. Beardsley was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow, a class D felony; and driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor.
