Thursday, October 22nd

12:48am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 100 Block of East Harrison Street for, “Vehicle Parked Facing Wrong Direction.”

3:03am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 400 Block of South Olive Street for, “Parked within 5’ of a Fire Hydrant.”

3:36pm: A caller advised of a vehicle travelling north on Hwy.4 south of Jefferson that was completing Unsafe Passing and Speeding. The officer located the vehicle in town and followed it through the city. No violations of law were witnessed by the officer.

3:37pm: A caller spoke with an officer in connection to some concerns they have with a family member. The officer offered some suggestions to assist them with the issues.

5:25pm: An officer investigated a Traffic Accident in the 100 Block of North Wilson Ave. A 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, owned and operated by Heather Reiling of Grand Junction, left the roadway in the 100 Block of North Wilson Ave. and struck the brick corner post (owned by the City of Jefferson) and continued northbound and struck a parked vehicle. The parked vehicle was owned by Dale Higgins of Grand Junction. The Higgins vehicle had a reported damage amount of $2500.00, while the Reiling vehicle had a reported $800.00 in damages. The corner post was not damaged. Reiling was cited for, “Failure to Maintain Control.”

10:32pm: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 301 East Vest Street.

11:55pm: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of North High Street for, “Vehicle Parked Facing Wrong Direction.”

Friday, October 23rd

2:18am: Beth Villanueva reported her adult son was on her porch and he was not allowed at her residence of 305 East Harrison Street. The officer met with the subject and spoke to him. The family arranged for a room at a local Motel and the subject left on his own.

8:27am: Beth Villanueva spoke to an officer about the process of gaining a Civil No Contact Order.

6:36pm: A caller advised of a dead cat in the roadway near Elm and Madison Streets. The officer disposed of the carcass after removing it from the roadway.

6:44pm: Josh Derry reported a Speeding Vehicle on Neola Ave, heading into Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

8:02pm: Tracy Stanek reported her vehicle had broken down and would be parked in the 300 Block of South Grimmell Road in a private parking lot until morning.

10:15pm: A caller reported he was being blackmailed by a subject on Instagram. The person claimed to have compromising photos of them that would be distributed unless he sent them money. The officer advised nothing could be done, but to block the subject on all Social Media Accounts.

11:58pm: An officer located and secured an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street.

Saturday, October 24th

12:33am: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Elm Streets resulted in Barbara Pergande of Webster City being cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License.”

3:37am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 200 West State Street. The officer arrived and found all doors and windows to be secure. A key holder was notified of the officer’s findings.

9:58pm: A Traffic Stop in the 900 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Jacob Day of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

10:27pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 102 North Locust Street. The officer found the business to be secure. A key holder arrived, and the officer searched the business, but found nothing unusual inside. The alarm was re-set.

Sunday, October 25th

******* The GCSO covered the city from 0600 to 1800 hrs.

10:55pm: Rick Nelson reported car alarms sounding in the 200 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.

11:12pm: Nicholas Scar requested an officer at 777 Wild Rose Lane after being threatened by another male at the playing tables. The officer arrived and learned the casino staff had requested the other male involved to leave, which he had. The officer took a Harassment Complaint from Scar and is investigating the reported event.

******** Officers issued (3) Parking Violation Notices for, “Street Sweeping Violations” during this reporting period.
