The Dallas Center – Grimes girls volleyball team was able to put up some great numbers throughout their postseason run, but unfortunately ran into a buzz saw at their state volleyball game on Monday afternoon in Cedar Rapids against top ranked Cedar Rapids – Xavier falling 25-20, 25-14, and 25-11 in a quick match. The home team was able to establish an identity from the get go, as they used their size and athleticism to their advantage in the match to take down the Fillies.

DCG was competitive in set number one, but unfortunately couldn’t come away with the set. That was their best chance of the night as Xavier was able to have a big second and third set and put away the match very quickly.

Grace Mikota was able to lead the Fillies with ten kills, pacing an attack that had a tough time finding spots throughout the match.

Dallas Center – Grimes ends their wonderful season at a 17-5 mark, and can walk away with their heads held high after a great season that got them the opportunity to play at state.
