Dallas Center – Grimes football was able to put together one of the best regular seasons out of anyone in the state of Iowa in 3A, finishing 6-0 and ranked in the top 3 in their class. Unfortunately come playoff time, they couldn’t get out of the round of 32, falling to a hot Carlisle team by the score of 49-7.

The Mustangs had a lot of talent on their team with 15 mentioned on the all district team, and twenty seniors on their roster as well. Multiple starters were mentioned in those district teams and many of them are seniors as well, as the Mustangs will be looking to replace a lot of talent for their 2021 season.

That said, almost always it’s not a rebuild scenario, it’s always reload for the Mustangs, and the same is expected to be true come the offseason. Numbers have been very good at the JV and Freshmen level as well, and those teams have also found success.

Though there will be a lot of holes potentially for the Mustangs, there is definitely excitement in the air for the future of the Mustangs program.
