The Perry Jayette swimming team celebrated the most successful season in over two decades this past Saturday with a strong fourth place showing in a stacked 2A swim regional in Johnston.  Perry swimmer Jaylene Karolus qualified for state in both the 50 freestyle and 100m breaking her own school record in both.  Sophia McDevitt lowered her own school record in the 500 freestyle but just missed out on state competition.  In all, Perry secured eight personal best times while rewriting three school records.  Every single relay scored a season best time as well.  Johnston and Ankeny went 1-2 in the final standings with Council Bluffs Lewis Central placing third followed by Perry.  Karolus has qualified for the prelims of the state meet in Marshalltown this Friday night at 5pm.  There will be a pay per view live stream of the event.
