veterans-day

Despite all the changes 2020 has brought to how events are held, Perry entities were able to honor those who have served on Veterans Day.

For the first time since 1988, there was no formal in-person program to prioritize the community’s veterans and attendees’ safety. The Perry School Foundation came up with a few other ways to honor those who have served. Perry School Board Vice President Lisa Andorf says they received a lot of participation from the community, “The positive response from the community has been overwhelming. We originally anticipated we would have 20-25 veterans who request yard signs, and we’ve had over 53. All of our yard signs have been put out. Thank you very much (High School Principal) Dan (Marburger) to do something very different this year.”

TC&B Wearables in Perry also donated free veteran hats and KDLS aired special public service announcements from community members, students, and veterans themselves.
