As COVID-19 cases continue to increase across Greene County, some public buildings are closing their facilities to the public.

The Jefferson and Churdan libraries have closed their buildings to the public once again, until further notice. The Jefferson Library is closed at this time to the public. However, they will continue to provide curbside and home deliveries. Staff will continue to fill requests for books, movies, puzzles, magazines, board games, along with making photocopies, scanning documents, provide notary service information and make photos from its kiosk in the main hallway. Services are available weekdays from 9am-6pm, and you can contact the adult and teen departments at 515-386-2835 or the children’s department at 515-386-4415.

Starting Monday, the Churdan Library will be closed to foot traffic. However, the library will continue to be staffed and available by appointment daily from 1-5pm. They will also continue with curbside and home delivery services. Contact the library at 515-389-3423 to schedule an appointment.

The Greene County Community Center has also made adjustments. Due to the Greene County School District switching to remote learning from November 16th-24th, the community center will provide internet access to those students who do not have internet from 8am-noon with school staff supervision. Due to this change, the community center will limit internet access to those 18 and older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, with an exception for students and pre-approved scheduled practice times with adult supervision. Masks are highly encouraged to be worn inside the facility and social distancing of at least six-feet is also encouraged.
