A familiar face was recently re-elected to serve on the Dallas County Board of Supervisors.

Republican Mark Hanson defeated Democrat challenger Larry Lyon in the general election for the Supervisors’ second-district seat. Hanson tells Raccoon Valley Radio he wants to keep guiding the County through its rapid population growth, “We continue to see the growth, and we need to have smart growth. We have to understand the balance between urban and rural living options. We have to continue to maintain our infrastructure, both our bridges and our roads, but also our buildings, bike trails, and parks. Also long term, just to continue the low tax rate and to keep our AAA credit rating which has saved the taxpayers a large amount of money when we’ve had to borrow.”

Hanson has been serving on the Dallas County Board of Supervisors since 2005.
