Following Governor Kim Reynolds’ newest COVID-19 public health emergency proclamation, the Perry Chamber of Commerce has announced the cancellation of their annual lighted parade.

The events previously scheduled for Friday, November 27th including the lighted parade and activities with Santa at La Poste were called off as the proclamation restricts outdoor gatherings to 30 people outside and 15 indoors.

In place of in-person festivities, there will be a holiday lighting and decoration contest beginning Friday, November 27th and ending Friday, December 18th. Residents and businesses may submit photos of their own holiday lights and decorations by tagging @PerryAreaChamber and #PerryHolidayLights on Facebook or Instagram. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

You can hear more about holiday celebrations in the City of Perry on Friday’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program with Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti on KDLS and RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
