Several local businesses have made changes to their procedures as a new public health emergency proclamation signed by the Governor this week put new restrictions in place to bend the curve of COVID-19.

The proclamation in effect through December 10th states that restaurants and bars must close to in-person services at 10 p.m., with no bar seating and masks required when not seated.

Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce President Kristen Crouthamel says she’s seen many Chamber businesses respond with their adherence to the proclamation, “It’s the year of COVID so everybody just has to adapt how they adapt and things are very fluid and change every day with this pandemic. So I’ve seen most of them post that they have to have their masks on until they’re seated at their tables. I know most of the restaurants that I’ve been in anyway have tables blocked off so that people are away from each other in their groups, no groups larger than 15 indoors, that sort of thing.”

Crouthamel adds that she thinks businesses are doing the best they can in this “very awkward situation.” You can hear more from her during today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program on air and at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
