West Central Valley Wildcat basketball is finishing up their first week of practice today, and obviously one of the things that the Wildcats are focused on will be the defensive focus and intensity throughout the season, and see if they can make improvement through the coming weeks and months.

The Wildcats at times had a tough time slowing opponents last season as they ranked in the lower end of the conference in points per game given up. Teams were often able to use their skill and athleticism to get the job done, and get some easy buckets at times. Fundamentals and drills are currently being practiced by the Wildcats as they continue to look for improvement, and habits become installed.

The Wildcats will be looking for athletes and players to make a commitment to individual and team defense, as they look to improve for the upcoming season.
