Thursday, November 19th

2:27am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop on a Speeding Vehicle in the 600 Block of 220th Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Douglas Wayne Shutt, 59 of Grand Junction for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious and Driving While Barred – Aggravated.” Shutt was also cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

9:57am: Chad Olson reported damage to his garden fence at 1105 North Walnut Street. It is unknown if the damage was caused by an animal or human.

11:46am: Officers investigated a Traffic Accident at North Mulberry and 220th Street. A 2006 Mack Dump truck, owned by Caliber Concrete of Audubon and being operated by Richard Moore of Dexter, had stopped at the posted stop sign on Mulberry. The driver began to leave the stop sign, but stopped again for oncoming traffic. A 2006 Chevrolet K1500, owned by Amy Baugh and being operated by Yearson Salvin of Jefferson struck the rear end of the dump truck. The Caliber Concrete vehicle was undamaged. The Baugh vehicle had a reported $2000.00 in front end damages. Salvin was cited for, “Fail to Stop in Assured Clear Distance Ahead.”

1:10pm: Phyliss Smith reported a possible Burglary to her son’s apartment at 901 West State Street. The son is hospitalized and unable to advise if property is missing at this time.

3:29pm: Jacie Hawwthorne reported a male doing yardwork at her residence of 208 South Pinet Street, and he is not supposed to be on our property. The officers made contact with the male, who left on his own.

8:57pm: Noah Johnson advised an officer he and his mother were involved in an argument and she would not allow him in the house. The officer spoke to the son and parent and diffused the situation for the evening.
