Greene County Public Health has recently released new information regarding the positive COVID-19 case count.

Director Becky Wolf tells Raccoon Valley Radio they have started to separate the total positive cases by zip code. She says the cases are mostly proportionate with the largest towns in the county. According to her report as of Tuesday of the 520 positive cases in Greene County, Jefferson has over 55-percent of the cases with 290, followed by 69 in Scranton, 41 are from Grand Junction, 38 in Churdan, Paton has 23 and Rippey has 22 cases. The rest are compiled from the outlying communities surrounding Greene County.

Wolf talks about sharing this new information with the public.

“It is kind of interesting to see that map proportionately. I think people are more interested now as far as seeing how widespread it is. The other thing to keep in mind is that our days to double – using our current rate of increase – we are currently at 18 (days). We’ve been pretty much 17-18 days to double.”

The County’s 14-day positivity rate is 22.6-percent, with 207 new cases in the last 14 days. Wolf urges everyone to continue to practice the safety guidelines to ensure an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.
