More information has been released on a two-vehicle incident that occurred at the intersection of Highways 4 and 141 on November 14th.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, at about 7:38 a.m. a Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the head on-collision. The driver of the eastbound Ford Explorer, 43-year-old Sara Marie Anderson of Templeton, and her passengers told the Deputy that they observed the driver of the westbound Ford Windstar, 34-year-old Codey Allen Savage of Jefferson, drive in their lane. Anderson said both drivers switched lanes to avoid each other before striking head on. Savage couldn’t accurately recall how the incident occurred. The Deputy also met an on-scene witness who observed Savage drive into the oncoming lane and observed the collision.

Anderson and a passenger who was extricated by mechanical means were both transported by Panora EMS to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center for minor injuries, Savage was extricated by mechanical means and transported by MercyOne Helicopter to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center for serious injuries, and Dallas County EMS transported one other passenger to Dallas County Hospital for possible injuries.
