South Hamilton swept a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball twin bill against Greene County in Jewell last night. The Hawks were 47-18 winners in the girls’ game and won 51-37 on the boys’ side. The games were broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The Rams fell to 1-1 in girls’ basketball while SH improved to 1-3. Freshman Makena Galetich had 19 points, one more than the entire Greene County team. Forty-two turnovers didn’t help the Rams, while SH had only 10 turnovers. Sadie Wilson scored nine points for the Rams and Brianna Habben added seven.

Cold shooting was one of the culprits that did in the Greene County boys. They trailed 38-16 at the half after going just seven of 32 from the field, which included a one for 14 performance from three-point range. Unofficially, the Rams finished 15 of 51 while SH was 19 of 50. The home team went 15 of 32 in the first half, and just four of 18 in half number two. The Rams had 15 points from Bryce Stalder and nine by Richard Daugherty. SH was led by Austin Busch with 12 points and two others with nine each.
