letters-2

There are a lot of streaks on the line tonight when the Greene County varsity basketball teams host PCM (Monroe) in the new gym in Jefferson. The longest of the streaks demonstrate the dominance of the Mustangs over the Rams. Greene County has lost 15 games in a row and 25 of 26 in girls’ basketball to PCM. The Greene County boys have dropped their last six against the Mustangs.

PCM has losing streaks of its own to contend with as the start of the season hasn’t produced a victory so far. The Mustangs were 0-5 entering a non-conference game last night and the PCM will take an 0-4 record into tonight’s contest.

Greene County is 1-1 in girls’ basketball and 0-2 on the boys’ side after dropping Heart of Iowa Activities Conference road games on Tuesday night in Jewell to South Hamilton.

Tonight’s games are set to start later than usual due to JV games being played prior to the varsity contests. The varsity games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with the girls at 6:30 p.m. and the boys to follow. The Rams play tomorrow afternoon on Raccoon Valley Radio in Perry with a 2 p.m. girls’ start and the boys to follow.
