Greene County won in overtime on Friday night over PCM (Monroe) in Jefferson in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girls’ basketball. That broke a string of 15 straight losses to the Mustangs and was just the second win in the last 27 games vs. PCM. The contest also marked the first win in OT for the Greene County girls since a 41-34 win on January 4, 2018 vs. Woodward-Granger in the former middle school gym in Jefferson. Victories, overtime or otherwise have been tough to come by in recent seasons for the Rams, who had five wins in the 2017-18 season, only one in 2018-19, and three last season.

The win in OT vs. PCM upped the Rams record to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference heading into a HOIAC road game tomorrow night at State Center vs. West Marshall. The Trojans are back in the Heart of Iowa for the first time in more than a decade.

It’s a girl/boy doubleheader vs. WM tomorrow night and both games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage starting around 5:40 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
