Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs basketball has been sharp so far this season, as they are currently 6-0 going into the break, and are playing like at team that is number one in the state currently for 3A.

In the first four games of the season, the Mustangs were able to win every single one of their games by at least 20 points, but the last couple of games have been good tests, with a four point win over Des Moines Christian and tough ten point road win down in Indianola.

Point guard Luke Rankin has been tremendous this season so far, as he is averaging 12.7 points per game along with 8.2 assists per game. The assists are the best mark per game in class 3A, as Rankin’s ability to see the court has been vital for this Mustang team this season. DCG has been able to play efficiently at various paces and the main reason is Rankin, as he has been a general for the Mustangs as the point guard position this season.

DCG will not have any games for a couple of weeks, and will look to rest and recoup before they re-take the floor in the near future.
