In the aftermath of the presidential election, President Donald Trump’s campaign filed several lawsuits claiming voter fraud and illegal ballot counting.

Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District Representative Steve King supports Trump’s lawsuits that were filed in several states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas and Michigan. He gives his outlook on all of the failed lawsuits, many not being heard by the court system.

“There isn’t any recourse against even a single state, we’ve got multiple states here. But a single state could disenfranchise their own constituents, their own citizens within their state cheat them out of their election, award the electoral votes to the Electoral College to the presidential candidate of their choice. A single state could conceivably flip the presidential election.”

While a record number of people voted in this past election, King believes many of the voters were not educated to make their choice of who to vote for.

“I want every vote to be legitimate, but I don’t want to disenfranchise anybody. I’d rather lose an election than have the confidence in our electoral system eroded or win by fraud. That’s been my position for a long time.”

The Electoral College recently certified Democratic candidate Joe Biden as President-Elect.
