Mc Kinley Robbins

The 2021 portion of the high school wrestling season is set to get underway tomorrow night for the Greene County Rams. Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams are led by sophomore McKinley Robbins. He’s ranked number 1 at 120 lbs. in Class 2A by IA Wrestle, is 9-0 this season with six falls, one technical fall, and two wins by forfeit, after going 37-2 at 106 lbs. as a freshmen and finishing second in the 2A State Tournament.

Robbins isn’t the only undefeated Greene County wrestler at this point. Junior Nathan Black at 152 lbs. is 9-0, while senior Brady Stauffer is 8-1 at 138 lbs. Junior John Sprague at 126 lbs. and freshman Gavin Scheuermann at 145 lbs. are both 7-2.

The Rams are scheduled to go to Greenfield tomorrow for a quadrangular vs. Nodaway Valley, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, and Woodward-Granger. Two other dates are scheduled for this week as well with a quad at Southeast Valley (Gowrie) on Thursday, and the Webster City dual meet tournament on Saturday. Greene County is 5-4 in dual meets with a four match winning streak.
