The West Central Valley boys basketball team competed against one of the best teams in the West Central Activities Conference in the Van Meter Bulldogs, and unfortunately were unable to come away with the victory falling by the score of 80-44.

It was a competitive game in the first half with the Wildcats only trailing by single digits after one quarter of play, but the Bulldogs were able to put together a 24 point second quarter and not look back, putting together a solid offensive night.

Despite the loss, the 44 points is the most that a Wildcat team has been able to score on Van Meter since 2015, and have continued to find an identity on the offensive end even if the wins haven’t followed yet.

The Wildcats will have a road game on Friday night when they take on Guthrie County foe Panorama in Panora.
