For 2021 there are going to be a few changes as it relates to the Raccoon River Valley Trail passes.

Dallas County Conservation Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist says the cost to produce the passes has increased causing a few changes. She explains that to maintain the same price they have encouraged people to purchase passes in a different way.

“We are really pushing buying the trail passes online. So you can go to the Dallas County Conservation Board website and there is a button there, purchase your trail pass there, you can pay for it online, and then it will send you an email.”

The email contains the trail pass number which can be saved or you can print a hard copy. Gilchrist says the online option is for the $10 year-long trail passes.

“To keep those affordable and keep them the same price we are really pushing the online purchase.”

Gilchrist adds that you can still purchase the $2 single-day trail passes, with cash, at the trailheads and Dallas County Conservation is working to make it so you can use your phone to pay as well. For online access click here.
