West Central Valley girls basketball was able to play good defensively on Tuesday night, holding their opponent in Van Meter to 39% shooting from the field and causing 24 turnovers, but unfortunately couldn’t get their offense going either as they fell by the score of 47-31. Van Meter improves to 5-4 on the season while the Wildcats fall to 3-7 on the year.

The Wildcats were only able to put up 20 total points through three quarters of play, and just couldn’t find an identity on offense unfortunately through missed shots and a few turnovers as well. Defensively they were able to speed up the game and cause some chaos throughout the night, but sadly weren’t able to overcome the slow start despite good effort and energy throughout the night.

The Wildcat girls will be taking on one of best teams in class 3A and Guthrie County foe in Panorama tomorrow in Panora. Tip time for the game will be at 6 o’clock.
