The Greene County School District released updated spectator guidelines and requirements for tonight’s home varsity basketball games against Saydel.

Activities Director Todd Gordon says Governor Kim Reynolds has lessened the spectator restrictions to allow more fans to attend sporting events. Under the new guidance, any grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles that are not part of the immediate household are allowed to attend for the participating student-athlete. This is an addition to the immediate household family members for the student-athlete.

Additionally, any varsity coaches and cheerleaders can have any family member attend, along with varsity managers and game management personnel are allowed to have immediate household family members attend.

Fans are to be together in their groups and continue practicing social distancing between their groups while in the bleachers, and masks are required to be worn at all times, except for those students playing in the basketball games. Finally, there will still be no student section and admission is $5 for students and adults. Gordon adds, these guidelines will be reevaluated for future competitions.

The varsity girls game will begin at 6:30pm, with the boys game to follow. The game will also be broadcast live on KGRA 98.9FM.
