Number one in class 3A in Dallas Center – Grimes boys basketball played a wild game on Friday night against the number 3 Pella Dutch, and came up short over in Pella with the final being 61-58. The game came down to the final seconds as Pella was able to make a final couple of plays to take the win, and used a big third quarter after DCG had a halftime lead of 32-23.

The Mustangs were led in scoring by junior Cole Glasgow, who had 19 points on the night and four rebounds as well. Senior Luke Rankin was able to record a double-double, as he was able to post 11 points along with 12 assists, a good line in a tough loss. Junior Karl Miller lead Pella with 19 points and 9 rebounds.

The Fillies were able to pick up a nice road victory winning by the score of 44-35. The Fillies were able to play excellent defense throughout the night slowing down the Pella attack. DCG is now 9-2 on the season on the girls side.

Both teams will be looking for more wins next week when both get ready for more Little Hawkeye Conference action.
