The varsity basketball teams from Greene County High School are in the midst of a road swing that will have them away from Jefferson four straight nights of competition. Games at Panora vs. Panorama and in Nevada, were played earlier this week, with a trip to Story City to face Roland-Story on Friday, and one on Monday vs. Woodward-Granger in Woodward are yet to come. Neither Greene County team has won on the road so far this season.

Coach Todd Gordon’s girls are 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, while Coach Chris Nelson’s boys are 1-8 on the season and 1-4 in the conference. The Rams are also nearly the halfway point of the 21-game regular season. They’ve had some dates postponed by weather and COVID-19 concerns, but between games already made up and others rescheduled, both teams are on track to get the full regular season schedule in

Friday night’s game from Story City can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage starts at 5:40 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
