Landowners with the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) are reminded of the re-enrollment time period.

For the roughly 45,000 acres enrolled in the CRP program, the contracts are expiring this fall, and those acres are eligible to re-enroll as part of the recently opened 56th general CRP sign up through February 12th.

The rules and eligibility requirements for the general sign-up are the same as last time with the cutoff being around 210 points. Landowners with expiring CRP, croplands having an erodibility index greater than eight or located national and state priority conservation areas are eligible to apply.

The CRP program is administered by the Farm Service Agency (FSA) and you can contact your local FSA office for more information, including the Dallas County FSA at 515-993-3412.
