A Des Moines man has been arrested for drug charges from an Adel incident. 

According to court documents, on January 17th, Ted R. Smith, 58, of Des Moines was arrested and charged with controlled substance violation, a Class-B Felony; failure to affix a drug stamp, a Class-D Felony, as well as misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court documents show that at approximately 6:52 p.m. January 17th Dallas County Dispatch received information about methamphetamine, marijuana, large sums of cash and multiple pieces of paraphernalia were in plain view in the 900 block of Greene Street in Adel. 

Smith allegedly moved the items to a separate location in the house. Officers executed a search warrant and found multiple drug-related items, a ball of a crystal-like substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine, a plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance that later field-tested positive for marijuana

Smith was arrested and taken to the Dallas County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
