With the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) participating in the I-PLEDGE program to help keep tobacco products out of the hands of youth, it’s important to know what you should look for. 

Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard says there are many different devices, as it relates to alternative nicotine such as vaping, and it can be difficult for people to know what they should look for. 

“I think the parents need to educate themselves on what to look for to see if your children are using vapes and just pay attention to what our kids are doing.”

Leonard says some vape devices look like computer thumb drives and it can be hard to determine what the device is. As part of the I-PLEDGE program the DCSO will work to keep tobacco products out of the hands of Dallas County youth.
