The Jefferson Library Children’s Department has family-friendly entertainment that is suitable during the pandemic.

Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says kids through fifth grade are encouraged to pick up take-home crafts.

“We have different themes. So one is snowflakes, one is snowman, one is hot chocolate, and one is birds in winter. There’s just a lot of different ideas for it. We might have recipes in there, we might have different ideas as far as games that they can play. Maybe some STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities, math building skills, things like that.”

Clark points out that you don’t need a library card to pick up a craft. She requests that since the library is closed to the public, to call the Children’s Department to get a craft, which will then be brought to your vehicle. Call the Children’s Department at 515-386-4415 for more information.
