Helen Marie Gomis 90 of Adel, passed away on Saturday February 6, 2021 in at her home
surrounded by her family. A Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 12,
2021 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel in Adel with a visitation held one
hour prior to the service. Burial and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. For the

Helen Marie Gomis was born April 24, 1930 to Fae and Laura Pearl (Spurgeon) Gale in
Moulton, IA. She grew up in Moulton and in 1948 she graduated from Udel High School. On
August 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Paul Gomis. To this union they were blessed
with four boys and three girls. Helen spent much of her life caring for the family as a homemaker
and in later years. Worked as a CNA, med aid and a Restorative Aid at the nursing home she
was a member of Stover Memorial and the Panther Creek Church of the Brethren.
Her memory will continue on in the hearts and minds of her children; Rhonda (Paul) Stiles, Ron
(sherry) Gomis, Dianna (Jeff) Marker, Don (Diane) Gomis, Donna (Eric) Dansmoore, Richard
(heather) Gomis, Donald (Danielle) Gomis; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. Along with
numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; parents Fae and Laura; one sister and two
brothers.
