All the wrestling is done at the 2021 Iowa High School State Tournament except for the Championship matches tonight at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The Raccoon Valley Radio listening area has seven individuals going for State titles starting around 6:15 p.m. All seven matches can be heard on all three stations and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. In addition to the individuals, Waukee is a close second in the Class 3A team race. Waverly-Shell Rock has 146.5 points to 141 for the Warriors. Southeast Polk is a close third.

Waukee has four finalists in freshman Carter Freeman at 106 lbs., freshman Koufax Christensen at 113, his older brother Thurman Christensen a senior at 126, and junior Griffin Gammell at 182.

There are three finalists from 2A schools in our area. They are sophomore McKinley Robbins from Greene County at 120 lbs., Winterset senior Tyler Brown at 152, and Panorama senior Wyatt Appleseth at 160 lbs.
