As the COVID-19 vaccine continues to be administered in Greene County, there might be some confusion as to where and notification of when to get the shot.

Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf says they are still working through Phase 1B Tier 1 of the priority population, while also vaccinating those 65 and older. However, Wolf explains that if you qualify, can you get the vaccine wherever.

“There is no residency requirements or restrictions. You just have to remember that if you get your vaccine with us (at public health) you need to come back to us and we make sure we make appointments before you get out the door.”

Wolf encourages qualifying individuals to make an initial appointment with public health, which can be done three different ways, via calling, emailing or through a registration website. She describes how they will contact you to schedule an appointment.

“We will either email you or call you. We don’t have an idea of how soon we will get to you, but we will make sure that we have connected with you so we’re not just, we email you and we don’t hear anything from you and you didn’t look at your email and missed an appointment kind of a thing. We’ll make sure that people are aware of their appointment.”
