Greene County Public Health is confident they will be ready to continue to roll out vaccines to anyone 16 and older.

The recent announcement by Governor Kim Reynolds that counties could start vaccinating anyone 16 and older on April 5th took some coordination but Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf says they are ready. She says they are continuing to receive about 100 weekly doses of the Moderna vaccine, which is licensed for those 18 and older, while the Pfizer vaccine is for anyone 16 and older. However, she urges anyone who wants to get a vaccine to get one.

“I just want to remind everybody, don’t miss an opportunity to get vaccinated. If we don’t have it available but you have it somewhere else, go get it. We don’t care where you get it, we just want to get you covered.”

Wolf reminds everyone that there are several places in Greene County that are offering a COVID-19 vaccine, including Greene County Family Medicine Clinic, McFarland Clinic, Jefferson Hy-Vee Pharmacy, Medicap Pharmacy and public health. She advises to check with each one to see who is eligible to get a vaccine and if you have to be placed on a waiting list.
