Greene County finished seventh among 13 teams Friday night at the Winterset Husky Track & Field Invite. This was the second outdoor meet for Coach Chad Morton’s team of the outdoor season and the second this week. It was a boys’ only meet and took just over three hours to complete from start to finish.

Greene County did not win an event, but was second twice and third once. Junior Jackson Morton was second in the 110 meter high hurdles in 16.03 seconds, running into a stiff southerly breeze. The other runner-up finish for Greene County came from the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:05.34 with senior Jaxon Warnke, junior Bryce Stalder, junior Nathan Black, and Morton. Black went 5′ 10″ in the high jump to finish third.

North Polk (Alleman) won the team title with 175 points and ADM was second at 111. Underwood placed third with 73 points, followed by Nevada 58, Earlham 40, Winterset 37, Greene County 28, Clarke (Osceola) 26, Nodaway Valley (Greenfield) 14, Centerville 10, Woodward-Granger 8, Martensdale-St. Mary’s 6, and two points for Creston.
