Nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Award.

Since its inception in 2012 the award has recognized more than 650 farm families and it’s accepting nominations until May 3rd to be considered for the awards ceremony at the Iowa State Fair this year.

The award is aimed towards farmers and landowners who invest in conservation practices such as cover crops or wetlands, and incorporate best management practices into their farming operations to help improve and protect Iowa’s natural resources. Also, they must actively serve as leaders for the agriculture community.

Once nominations are received an appointed committee composed of both agricultural and conservation groups will look over the nominations and select winners. Those who receive the award will be recognized at the Iowa State Fair August 18th.
