Congresswoman Cindy Axne visited the Des Moines Area Community College Farm in Dallas County (DMACC) yesterday to discuss agriculture.

Axne met with students currently going through the program at DMACC which uses the farm to teach them real world agriculture skills. Axne says places like the DMACC farm are important to keeping agriculture going in Iowa.

“This is really important to Iowa’s agriculture community and to our entire country. I think we have far too long overlooked what agriculture brings to this entire country. So, for us to have this here is value added.”

Axne says she will bring what she learned back to the agriculture committee and other lawmakers because she says more emphasis needs to be placed on investing in agriculture and schools such as DMACC and what they teach.
