novel-coronavirus

New information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the federal Food and Drug Administration is requesting that the rollout for the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine be halted for now.

Greene County Public Health and Greene County Family Medicine Clinic has paused their two-day vaccine clinic for the one dose shot. The CDC and FDA are reviewing six cases that involve blood clots possibly from the result of the vaccine. Those that have received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and are experiencing severe headaches, abdominal and leg pain, or shortness of breath within three weeks after getting the shot should contact their health care provider. You are also asked to report the adverse events to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, which a link can be found below.

Greene County Public Health and Greene County Family Medicine are contacting those that signed up for the vaccine clinic this week. Alternative vaccine appointments that are based on availability with Moderna and Pfizer can be made through public health, as well as other pharmacies in Jefferson and the family medicine clinic.
