We are less than one month away from an inaugural event in Greene County.

Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Events Team Chair Philip Heisterkamp says the Bike Ride Around Greene County event will take place on Saturday, May 8th. There are five stops along that 36.5 mile bike ride. The route starts at the Welcome Center in Jefferson at 9am, heading east on Lincoln Way to S Avenue and going north to Lakeside National Golf Club, before continuing north to 209 Main Restaurant in Paton. Cyclists will then head south on Highway 144 for a pit stop in Dana and then to the 30 Yard Line in Grand Junction, before heading to Doc’s Stadium in Jefferson.

Heisterkamp notes the event will encourage participants to experience unique areas of Greene County.

“And so with five stops it shouldn’t be as taxing as you would think a 36 mile straight ride (would be). With the stops, we expect you to take somewhere between 4 and 6 hours, depending on how much fun you want to have. At each of these stops, it’ll be a little watering hole. You’ll be able to have a drink special, a food special, and just really enjoy yourself and hopefully a beautiful day out there.”

Registration fee before May 1st is $25, which includes a t-shirt. Then after May 1st, registrations will be $35. Heisterkamp says over 60 people have signed up. You can click the link below to sign up.
