Greene County placed sixth on Wednesday at the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girls’ golf tournament. Josh Carlson is the coach of the Rams. He said Alex Miller tied for 14th place in the 38 golfer field with nine hole rounds of 56-48=104. The second nine score marked the second time Miller has been in the 40’s in the past week. Brianna Habben shot 61-52=113, and the 52 was her low score for nine holes. Afton Funke went 68-64=132 and the 64 was her low nine hole score. Kathryn Beaman shot 137 and Josie Weaver was at 141.

The coach added the girls played on an absolutely gorgeous day on a course that was in great condition. “I’m proud of the girls the way they’ve improved in just a short amount of time. Only two of our girls had ever played golf before this season.”

Meet medalist and runner-up were both from R-S. Kaitlyn Rahfeldt shot 84 and Makenna Carlson was next at 88.
