Greene County joins the six other Heart of Iowa Activities Conference schools in Monroe today for the conference coed track & field meet. Starting time is 4 p.m. and the Rams have several events that could be in contention for conference titles.

Coach Derek Merk’s girls have conference leading events with sophomore Olivia Shannon in the 200 meter dash and senior Brianna Osterson in the long jump. The Rams have five other events that sit in second place among conference schools, according to the stats website Varsity Bound.

Coach Chad Morton’s boys have four events leading the conference and five others in second place heading into today’s meet. The leading events are junior Jackson Morton in the 110 high hurdles and the 400 meter low hurdles, plus the shuttle hurdle relay with senior Jaxon Warnke, juniors Nate Black and Bryce Stalder, with Morton on the anchor. Greene County also leads in the high jump with Black.

This is the final regular season meet for both Greene County teams. The Rams go to Manson next Thursday the 13th for a Class 2A State Qualifying Coed Meet.
