Greene County hosts PCM (Monroe) tonight in high school baseball  at Allensworth Field in Jefferson. Coach Matt Paulsen’s Rams are 0-3 after losing to Class 3A power Van Meter on Tuesday night in Van Meter by a final of 7-3. The Bulldogs improved to 5-0.

Bryce Stalder singled for the lone Greene County hit. The Rams struck out 13 times against four Bulldogs’ pitchers. Peyton started on the mound for the Rams and took the loss after allowing four earned runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out four batters. Blake Hammen pitched two innings and he gave up one earned run on one hit, one walk, and he hit one batter.

Jack Pettit struck out six Rams in three innings pitched, and he also had three hits and two runs batted in. VM scored three runs in the first, and two each in the fourth and fifth innings. The Rams scored all of their runs in the sixth.
