The Bell Tower Festival Mission Impossible 2.0 returns tomorrow in Jefferson.

After the event was cancelled last year because of the global public health pandemic, the festival will begin with the opening ceremonies and the recognition of this year’s Tower of Fame award winners, with Michelle Book and Tom Morain at 6pm. A bags tournament will be at 6:30pm, along with axe throwing from 6-9pm and kid-friendly games from 6-9pm.

Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Events Team Chair Philip Heisterkamp describes the three types of games, including carnival and others that fit within the theme of Mission Impossible.

“When you think about a Mission Impossible movie or tv show, some of the staples is, there’s always a chase scene, there’s always a shooting scene, there’s a climbing scene, and there’s always like a mental riddles and scavenger hunts. So you’re going to find all these things, especially a pretty elaborate scavenger hunt that will take you all the way around the square. And lastly there will be, what we’re nicknaming ‘impossible games.’ So things like, how long can you hang from a pull-up bar or another one is like a throwing challenge, like a long toss.”

Heisterkamp adds, games like the scavenger hunt and pull-up bar, the winners will receive a cash prize.

The evening rounds out with a live musical performance from Dirt Road Divide at 8pm. There will also be a beverage station starting at 5pm, along with vendors from 5-8pm. Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live Friday from 3-7pm.
