Greene County’s high school baseball team won its fourth game in a row and improved to 6-12 on the season with a 16-9 non-conference victory in Dayton on Tuesday night vs. Southeast Valley. The Jaguars fell to 11-10.

The Rams had 16 hits and put up a season best 16 runs. Kole Teeples hit a third inning grand slam homer, his first career home run Teeples added a double, and he knocked in five runs. Bryce Stalder socked the first homer of his career, a three run round-tripper in the second inning, and he also doubled and drove in five runs. Alex Roberts singled, doubled, and had two RBI, while Cameren Miller had two doubles and two runs batted in. Blake Hammen and Max Riley singled twice, and Peyton Kinsey added a double and two singles.

Teeples was the starting and winning pitcher. He went the first four innings and allowed all 10 hits by SEV and six runs, all earned. Miller threw 1-1/3 innings and Roberts went the last 1-2/3 innings.

Greene County wasn’t charged with an error and SEV had two errors. The Rams led 6-0 early and never trailed in the two hours and 35 minute contest.

The Rams are on the road again tonight in Nevada for the final Heart of Iowa Activities Conference game of the season. The Rams are 3-8 in the league and own a 9-2 victory over the Cubs earlier this season.
