Greene County Farm Bureau recently held its annual appreciation night event.

One of the highlights was the Distinguished Service to Agriculture award. Brian Berns is a 1988 graduate of Paton-Churdan High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in ag business from Iowa State University. He currently works as a sales agronomist for New Cooperative.

Other highlights included the 2021 high school scholarship winners, which were Chloe Berns, Ashlyn Frederick and Laci Riedesel. Members from the Greene County Historical Society gave a short presentation on the history of the county with Roger Aegerter, Chuck Offenburger and Nancy Hanaman.

The event was held at the Grand Junction Community Center, where 55 members attended.
