A nurse, who is a Jefferson resident and works at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll was recently honored with an award.

Katie Nelson is a registered nurse and earned the DAISY Award, which recognizes the super-human efforts that nurses perform everyday. Nelson grew up in Glidden and earned her nursing degree at Grand View University. She started working at St. Anthony in 2015 as a radiation oncology nurse and became the Oncology Nurse Navigator in 2019. 

Katie is married to Chris Nelson and they have two young children.
