Greene County ISU Extension is offering the next series of programs for those who take care of loved ones.

The Powerful Tools for Caregivers is for those who are the primary caregiver for children with special health or behavioral needs, or someone caring for a spouse, parent or friend with a chronic condition such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. The six-week program will provide support strategies, communication techniques, reducing stress and resources to help family caregivers. ISU Extension Human Sciences Specialist Cheryl Clark says being a caregiver is stressful and can lead to poor physical and mental health, and less life satisfaction.

The program will be from 1-2:30pm on Thursdays from August 5th-September 9th. The cost is $40 per person and it will be held online. Click the link below to register or contact the Greene County Extension office in Jefferson.
